2016 Operation Stay Afloat:
Comprehend, Protect and Mitigate More

Recent changes to the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) have made it even more important for communities (and individuals) to find the resolve to mitigate existing structures that are at risk; reducing their flood risk (or removing them from harm’s way) to bring relief to communities and individuals from the financial burden, personal risk and stress associated with flood insurance, evacuations, rescues, and flood damage.

Come and join us for this free event, co-hosted by the Indiana Departments of Homeland Security and Natural Resources to learn and earn continuing education units (CEUs) for your CFM, PE and PEM certifications. Session topics include:

  • Removal of Low Head Dams—Case Studies and the Data
  • Yellow River Initiative
  • Post Mitigation Grant Requirements— A Panel Discussion
  • Elevation Certificates—Get it Right!
  • The new DNR In Lieu Fee Program
Attendance is free. However, registration is required.

Please register by March 5, 2016 by contacting Anita Nance in the Floodplain Management Section of the IDNR Division of Water:

Check-in on the day of the event begins at 7:30 AM. More information about event logistics can be found in the event brochure
